Game #26 - at New York Islanders

Game 26
Penguins (17-8-0, 34 pts) at Islanders (9-9-7, 25 pts)

Why does it matter?
Long Island always seems to be a tough place for the Pens to play. It's a division game that they should win.

What has been happening lately?
  • Pens - The Pens have been cranking up the level of play slowly but surely. They're still missing a few guys, but once everyone returns, this could be an interesting team to watch.
  • Islanders - Inconsistent play has marred the season for the Isles. They are showing promise, however.
Questions to be answered
  • Is Tavares for real? He is averaging almost a point per game.
  • More interestingly, is Matt Moulson for real? Did anyone see him scoring 11 goals in the first 25 games?
  • Can the Pens avoid the letdown loss?
Keys to the game
  • The Isles have lost 7 games in OT so far. They're playing lots of close games, so it's important to focus on the little things.
  • Go after Brendan Witt - he's a -12 and playing less than 16 minutes per game.
