- The Pens were out shot 46-22. That smacks of another lack of effort. They were dominated in shots all three periods, so it's not like they collapsed at any specific moment.
- Therrien seems to be willing to give them a pass right now, so it's tough to be too critical. He said that they were going through a rough stretch, and that losing so many player was catching up with them.
- Sabourin played pretty well, all things considered. The score could have been much worse. If you watch the embedded highlights, you can hear the Carolina announcers saying Sabu is known for a weak glove hand - I think that's the first I've heard that...
- Was the Laraque fight any good? I missed that part of the game.
Next up: A rare Sunday night game in Buffalo.
Here are the highlights

I think it was Brookbank, or something like that who went with Laraque. He was a big guy, but the fight was kind of lame. Laraque posed for the first 10 seconds with the left cocked back. He finally got a hold of him, and let 3-4 fast shots go to the head. They took turns almost going down, then the guy kind of headlocked BGL and took him down. Not very entertaining, but glad to see Georges try something to get the team going.
If M.T. is letting them off the hook with this loss, who am I to question :) We've been lucky Phi. and N.J. have not been hot cause we're still up. Big game in Buf. on Sun. They're like 8-0-2 in their last 10.
Anyone see the video of Crosby skating? I'm sure he's got at least another 1+ weeks to go, but they kept saying "He's gotta be getting close". He did look somewhat strong. He was pulling a trainer with a bungee rope and really motoring.
