The Pens will probably be without Sid and Geno again. The Hurricanes are a decent team that can give the Penguins fits. This will be a measure of the character of the guys not named Sid and Geno in the Pens' locker room.

What has been happening lately?

• Pens - Some nice wins spoiled by that awful taste left over from Jersey.
• Hurricanes - A nice rebound win over the Rangers after two losses to Boston.

Questions to be answered

• Who will provide the offense?
• Can the Pens keep Eric Staal in check? Carolina is 8-1 against the Pens when he scores a goal.
• Can Fleury step up and have a big game in net?

Keys to the game

• Limit their chances. The Canes like to pile up the shots. Keep them off of their game early to frustrate them and make them take chances.
• Get to the power play. The Canes' PK is one of the worst in the league this year.
• Be disciplined. It looks like the Hurricanes are content to trade chances. Make sure you win the battle at even-strength.
