Rupp gives the Pens some more toughness, along with another guy who is willing to drop the gloves.
The interesting thing about Rupp is that he plays bigger minutes than your usual tough guy. The Devils used him about 9 minutes per game on average.
I'm curious about two things:
- Does this put Godard's tenure in jeopardy?
- Does this mean the Pens are convinced that Max Talbot can play a role on the second line?

I think that Godard stays. He's cheap, and I don't think freeing up his salary is big enough to really make it worth getting rid of him. Maybe that's just me tho, because I drool at the thought of Godard-Rupp-Adams 4th line. I know they'll score 1 goal all year if that, but it'd be a beast of a line.
I think they do give Talbot a shot full time with Malkin.
