Game #40 - vs Toronto Maple Leafs

Toronto Maple Leafs (16-16-8, 40 pts) at Pittsburgh Penguins (21-16-2, 44 pts)

Alex Steen skates really hard.

Gary, we will miss you. Come back soon, or at least go preach.

The Leafs come into the Igloo Thursday night having won just twice since December 14th. Unfortunately for the Pens, one of those wins was the last game they played. Another unfortunate factoid, the Leafs are still 8-2 in their last 10 games in Pittsburgh.

The Pens need to guard against a letdown after an exhilarating win on national television against the Buffalo Sabres. They also need to get used to being able to move the puck normally again after the snow drifts on the ice on Tuesday.

One thing that needs to improve is the power play. Listening to Stan Savran tonight, he was of the opinion that you need to get Peter Sykora on the first power play, at the expense of Jordan Staal. I say if you're going to do that, you consider putting Malkin in front of the net. He certainly has some size. I know you'd be giving up his play making ability, but it's something to try.

Let's see if the Pens can keep up the winning with a good effort at home against the Leafs.

Let's Go Pens!
